What it an affiliate of a re:MADE store?
A re:MADE affiliate is a business model that involves re:MADE Stores licensing trademarks, systems, and methods to create a store within a community with a group of independent entrepreneurs. Each re:MADE Store is a stand alone nonprofit, created in the re:MADE framework - we like to use the example of a twin engine plane, re:MADE Stores builds the plane, puts the seats, engines, all the parts in. One engine is the board, they provide the flight plan and the fuel to fly. The other engine is fueled by the reselling of donated items that can be reused and repurposed. The Directors and Store managers are the flight crew all doing their part to have an amazing trip, the passengers are the entrepreneurs and customers that come along on the adventure!
What does it cost to become a re:MADE Store affiliate?
Typical Startup Cost: $35,000 affiliate fee [fee payment timeline discussed at time of application].
What are the requirements of an approved affiliate?
New area - one affiliate store per city with a board, directors, founders/patrons, reaching goals for startup.
What is the recommended size for a re:MADE store?
Minimum of 4,000 sf store, with workroom, storage, main entrance and donation entrance
What is the best location for a re:MADE store?
We start with making it easy for your donors to be able to donate. High traffic areas, buildings with the features you need to be successful, we have a packet that helps you figure out where in your city would be a good fit for a re:MADE Store.
How long will it take to open a re:MADE store?
Typically 12 months doing events, creating momentum, 1-2 months once lease is signed to have grand opening.
How will my store perform financially?
In accordance with the law, we cannot make any earning claims or assumptions.
What kind of support will I receive?
re:MADE Stores provides very hands-on support from the site selection process to the grand opening and beyond. As a re:MADE Store affiliate, you are truly a partner and will work closely with the affiliate team including the founders of the company. During the site selection process, we will work together to understand the local market and to determine the best location for your re:MADE store. We will then get our design team to create the optimal store layout. You and your leaders will then receive help via weekly meetings, forms, processes, training, and direction. You will also have access to all re:MADE trademarks, approved suppliers and our exclusive operational tools including our directors only library of knowledge.
Can we start making products before being approved for an affiliate store?
It is not recommended, productions need to be in the guidelines of re:MADE Stores to keep the look that is desired.
